I know it's been quiet around here - very quiet. I've been focusing on other projects this month (as well as the birthday explosion... hey, January people, can you spread out your birthdays a little more? ;) ) and haven't been as creative in the kitchen as I generally like to be.
So for today, I don't have a recipe for you. But because of the earthquake in Haiti, the devastation of which we can unfortunately relate to all too well here in Los Angeles, I wanted to link to Chris Sacca's excellent post on how we can help the relief efforts. I feel lucky that A. and I are able to contribute and, though I am generally not the praying type of person, I would like to ask you for at least a small prayer for the victims of this terrible disaster and to keep hope in your heart for survivors.
Thanks for being here to listen.

Thank you for posting this, Irene. I haven't watched the news in so long I didn't even know about this. My heart is hurting for them - what horrors they must be facing just to make it through each day.
I'm missed your posts, and look forward to your return when you're up to it. :-)
That was pretty devastating news. My husband and I watched it last night. We were pretty sad. What making us so sad was, that this country is really poor, and now, having a natural disaster like this. We can not imagine how hard it is for Haitian people.
That's very sad news but thank you for posting this.I will be including them in my prayers...
It is such a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the survivors.
Thanks for bringing attention to this tragedy, Irene.
I am deeply saddened with what happened to Haiti. It is so alarming and I am hoping that everyone of us will unite and help them.
